Not at all! Our classes are designed for all levels—from complete beginners to advanced potters. Most students are at the beginner to intermediate level.

We have a variety of bucket glazes (dipping) made both in house and comercially made (mostly Coyote brand). We also provide a a large array of jarred glazes for use mostly given to the studio by donation. About 7 glazes will be refilled by HVP like Amaco Zinc Free Clear and Blue Rutile for example.

Pottery can get messy! Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting clay on, and closed-toe shoes. Aprons are provided, but you’re welcome to bring your own.

Yes, you’re welcome to bring personal tools, but we also provide all the basics you’ll need.

Six week sessions have classes that run 2 - 2.5 hours. Private lessons for 1-3 people are 1.5 hours. 4 and up are two hours. Saturday Kids & Family Classes are 2 hours but there is an option for one hour. After school classes are 1.5 hours long.

Yes. Space is limited, so we recommend booking early to secure your spot. for all classes.
Paying online is not signing up. You must call or email to be officially booked.

Workshops are usually one-time events focused on a specific project or technique. Classes are ongoing and provide deeper instruction and practice.

Yes, we offer firing services for outside work. The cost is 6 cents per cu inch that can be calcutated at time of drop off and paid in cash or by Venmo.
It is very important that the clay is cone 5/6 only as well as the glazes used. If you are not completely sure I will ask you for a photo of the box the clay came in or some other proof. Firing low fire (cone 04-06) clay or glaze in a kiln that is firing cone 5/6 is a recipe for disaster. Call Judi at 845-876-3910.
if you would like to use HVP glazes, an additional fee of $15 per hour for studio time will be added to the firing fee.

On average, 10 days for bisque and 3 weeks total for both bisque and glaze firings. for private lessons we say it takes about a month. Timelines often vary based on kiln schedules.

Yes! Glazing is included with private lessons. We can glaze for you with a color you choose at the time of the lesson or you can schedule a follow up glaze lesson included in the price.
for six week long sessions, if you don’t finish glazing within the six weeks allotted, you can come back and glaze for free during studio hours. We really want you to finish your work :)

Cancellations for private lessons with at least 7 days’ notice may be rescheduled or refunded. Unfortunately, we cannot refund missed classes.
Classes missed during a six week session can be made up by attending another existing class with another teacher and time within the six week session. Classes do not roll over to another session.
kids after school class can be made up during the Kids & Family classes on Saturdays.

Yes! We offer kids’ classes on Wednesday afternoon 3:45-5:10 and family classes on Saturdays 3-5pm (except the last Saturday or each month). For regular adult classes, participants must be 16+, but call Judi to confirm

Absolutely. We host team-building events, birthdays, and private workshops. Contact us for custom packages.

Yes, memberships include open studio hours, clay, glaze and kiln access. The Open Studio plan is $175 per month. At least 6 months of studio experience is required. Call Judi to Schedule a tour of the facility 845-876-3190.
